Born into a family of musicians—his father a violinist and organist, his grandfather an organist and conductor—music was an integral part of Peter Stinckens’ life from an early age. At four, his father placed a violin in his hands, but within months it was exchanged for a guitar, an instrument that would define his musical voice.
Peter began formal guitar studies at a young age and gave his first concert at seven. He went on to study music theory and refined his technique under the guidance of Carlo Ooms, developing both technical mastery and a deep musical sensibility.
After completing his studies at KU Leuven, Peter faced a decisive choice. Pursuing music professionally would have required significant artistic compromise. Instead, he chose a career in management, working for many years as a manager, interim manager, and consultant for both local and international organizations.
Music, however, never left him. Under the pseudonym Sten Stinus, he continued to compose and perform, keeping his artistic life separate from his professional career. Peter’s solo concerts are intense, immersive experiences that leave no listener untouched. Armed only with his classical guitar, he captivates audiences wherever he performs. His debut solo album, Dreams for Clouds, is scheduled for release in the summer of 2026.
